Monk Recording is a professional project studio serving as the recording facility for the production team of Scott Denison & David Bridge. The studio itself is adjacent to a private residence, and is a cozy, one room project studio, primarily built with affordability and the musician's comfort in mind (both physical and mental).
Although aimed at providing musicians with an economical alternative to commercial studios, Monk Recording's other objective is to provide a preferable positive and discreet environment for capturing the artist's work with the technical recording quality to back it. While we don't have huge tracking rooms and tons of equipment, we DO have knowledgeable and talented engineers dedicated to their craft, hand-selected professional gear, a fine acoustic space for most recording needs, and low overhead which keeps your production costs down.
The recording platform centers on an industry-standard, Mac-based Digidesign Pro Tools HD platform controlled via a Control 24 mixing surface. Complementing the ProTools system is a carefully selected collection of microphones, preamps, monitors and A/D/A converters. In fact, all of the equipment housed in the studio, including our outboard gear and instruments (right down to the Mogami cabling throughout) are of the highest professional quality to assist in cleanly capturing, and never degrading, the sound of your recording. ...unless that's what you're looking for, of course.
It is our goal to assist in the promotion of talented musicians of the Phoenix metro by providing them with an alternative and opportunity to professionally record & mix their music without the enormous economic barriers. However, due to demand, and the fact that Monk Recording is a single room facility, it should be noted that we must be selective about the projects we pursue. This simply means that every engagement starts with a casual conversation to determine if the timing works and that we're a good fit for each other.
